The Beginnings of Tesla's Generator

Tesla once said, while he was in college, but it will be possible to create an electric motor without metal brushes. This professor told him that the motor would require consistent motion and would therefore be impossible to make. Years later Tesla invented the alternating current generator, motor, and the transformer.

During the 1890s Tesla investigated other ways to generate electricity. In 1901 he patented a charged particle collector. This was the first motor that didn't require an external fuel supply. This invention raised the question. Could there be a way to create a generator without fuel and without actual motion?

In Tesla's secret files he had plans to build such a device. However with the government and community labeling him as a mad scientist when he said he could build such a generator big energy gasped. Tesla's secret generator would put the energy company out of business. This is one as investors pulled out. They didn't want Tesla to take away their profits. Their thought was that Americans should have to pay for energy. Nikola Tesla sought a way to create a device that would eliminate the electric company and big government from the lives of ordinary citizens.

A scientist named Kelvin proposed that it would be impossible to build device that uses surrounding heat is fuel. Tesla envisioned a very long bundle of metal coils reaching from the Earth to outer space. Since the earth was warmer than outer space he would be conducted up the bars with an electric current. Now we need is a super long power cord to match both ends of the metal bars to a generator which would allow it to continue running until earth cooled to a temperature of outer space. This is an inanimate motor and it is what Tesla was working on before this funding was pulled.
